Serious about Big Data? Hadoop gets the Cray Supercomputer Cluster treatment

21-06-2013

Cray, makers of insanely powerful computing solutions, have stepped up to the Big Data table with their own optimised Hadoop solution.

Sitting astride a heavily customised Linux OS, the Hadoop framework will no-doubt benefit from the ability to scale massively on Cray's legendary hardware...a maxed Cray CS300 setup can apparently support 11,000 compute nodes pumping out 25 petaflops. Those floating point operations per second sure won't come cheap, mind you.

So while we can't promise that you'll get to play with a Cray Supercomputer Cluster on our courses, we can promise some top-notch hands-on Big Data with Hadoop training if you need to get up to speed quickly.
