About the course:
Learn to extract value from your data using Report Builder 3
Our Report Build 3 training course is a comprehensive introduction to creating useful reports on varied datasets using Microsoft Report Builder 3.0.
Report Builder 3 is a tool designed for data analysts who need to create and publish engaging business reporting solutions built upon SQL Server Reporting Services, who do not necessarily wish to use Microsoft Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) - which is itself based on Visual Studio.
A Report Builder report can only be created when the appropriate data is available, so the course also includes accessing data using Transact SQL statements, as well as other available tools.
During the course you will gain valuable hands-on experience delivering commercial-quality report solutions, led by an expert SQL Server instructor.
By the end of this course, you will have learnt:
- Introduction to Report Builder
- Connecting to Data
- Retrieving Data
- Designing Reports
- Manipulating Data Sets
- Enhancing Basic Reports
- Saving, Sharing and Printing Reports
Who should attend
The course is designed for experienced Excel, Access and other Relational Database users wanting to create reports for use with Microsoft Reporting Services without using BIDS.
Prerequisites
Delegates should ideally have a good degree of experience manipulating and presenting data within Microsoft Excel and / or Microsoft Access. Practical knowledge of SQL would be useful too. Other equivalent Relational Database experience (such as Oracle, MySQL) should also be sufficient.
On-site
If you would like to find out about custom / on-site Report Builder 3 training for any size of team, please get in touch – we would be glad to help build a course that meets your learning requirements.
