About the course
Our Scrum Product Owner training course teaches people how to improve and maximise the delivery of value in systems & software products. Product Owners need a strong understanding of everything that drives value from their products, and to work with the Business to achieve its goals. Our Scrum Product Owner course will help you to develop your agile approach right through from the earliest Stakeholder interactions to Release Planning and delivery, and can help prepare you for your PSPO™ or CSPO™ qualifications.
This intensive 2-day hands-on course is designed to empower individuals to become highly effective Scrum Product Owners. The role is crucial for defining product vision, managing stakeholder expectations, and ensuring the Scrum Team builds the right product Increment by Increment. The course provides a deep dive into how the Product Owner maximises the value of the product resulting from the work of the Development Team, focusing on understanding value drivers, market needs, and aligning product development with business goals.
Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of managing the Product Backlog, from initial creation and refinement through to prioritisation and estimation techniques that inform forecasting and release planning. The training emphasizes collaborative practices, showing how the Product Owner interacts effectively with the Development Team during Sprint Planning, Sprint Execution, and the Sprint Review ("Review Gold") to ensure transparency and feedback are leveraged for continuous improvement. The course also covers essential skills like stakeholder management, understanding the nuances of the 'proxy' aspect of the role, considering product strategy in multi-team or scaled environments, exploring concepts from Lean Startup, and provides guidance on preparing for industry-recognized certifications like PSPO™ or CSPO™. Through a blend of theory, practical exercises, and simulations, attendees will learn how to lead product discovery, development, and delivery in an agile environment to achieve business success.
Instructor-led online and in-house face-to-face options are available - as part of a wider customised training programme, or as a standalone workshop, on-site at your offices or at one of many flexible meeting spaces in the UK and around the World.
